The Pirates and Nats are playing a doubleheader today; the first game has R. Hill facing P. Corbin on the mound. Corbin is having another rough season as he sits at 1-3 and with an elevated ERA of 5.89, he hasn’t been pitching well for several season since joining the Nats. The Pirates have been the surprise of the league at 18-8 as they’ve been getting consistent contributions from several players. You have to expect some regression from the Pirates going forward but I don’t believe it will start today versus the Nats.

The Jays look to continue their winning streak when they take on the Mariners this afternoon, the Jays have won 5 straight and have used strong starting pitching and a good offense to get it done. It will be C. Flexen versus K. Gausman on the mound and both are on polar opposites of the world right now. Flexen has been battered around to the tune of an 0-4 record with an ERA of 8.86 and a WHIP of 1.97, while Gausman is at an ERA of 2.84 and WHIP of 1.01.I like the Jays to make it 6 straight with a runline victory.

Cincinnati Reds -146

The Reds are another team running hot right now as they’ve won four straight and look to take advantage of the weakest team in baseball the A’s. Last night the Reds out hit the A’s in an 11-7 to victory. This afternoon the Reds have a clear advantage on the mound when H. Greene faces K. Muller; Muller is going through a rough stretch right now where he’s given up 4 ER or more in 3 straight starts while never pitching more than 5 innings. I believe Muller will continue to struggle today versus the Reds and for them to make is 5 straight wins.
