Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5 +173
This playoff season will be a put up or shut up one for the Leafs, for years now this franchise has had to deal with first round exits to weaker competition. Many question if this is the last hooray for this roster and if it will have to be blown up with another early exit. The talent is there when you have the likes of Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander and the list continues even further. Hopefully, this squad can finally learn from their previous failures and use it to propel themselves in this series. Scoatiabank Arena will be rocking tonight and I like the Leafs to win by multiple goals.
Atlanta Braves -1.5 +133
The Braves look to win their 8th straight game when they face the Padres tonight. The Braves won the opener of this series 2-0 behind a strong pitching performance by M. Fried. Tonight it will be S. Strider versus B. Snell; Snell has not pitched well in any of his 3 starts so far this season. He has walked almost a batter and inning and hasn’t been able to retire hitters with regularity. Outside of their 10 run performance on Saturday the Padres offense has been abysmal of the last week. It doesn’t get any easier for them tonight with Strider on the mound. I like the Braves by multiple runs.
Cleveland Cavaliers -240
The Cavs host the Knicks in Game 2 of their first round series, this is a close as it gets to as a must win game for the Cavs as they don’t want to head to MSG down 2-0 in this series. The Cavs were not a great road team so asking them to win 2 out of 3 games in New York will be a daunting task if they lose tonight. I expect another strong night from D. Mitchell and it will take a stronger performance from E. Mobley as well. I like to Cavs to even up this series with a win.
