The Clippers host the Pels in a do or die game tonight in LA. The Clippers ruined their chances of making the playoffs by losing to the Twolves on Tuesday. They had a 9 point lead on several occasions in the second half and just couldn’t hold on and that was with P. Beverley & KAT in foul trouble all night. Now they have to host the Pels riding the momentum of a nice victory over the Spurs on Wednesday. After watching the Clips play on Tuesday their only real natural offensive threat is P. George, there is a real drop after that to R. Jackson & N. Powell. Tonight they face the Pels with CJ. McCollum, B. Ingram & J. Valanciunas that will all be able to be effective offensively. I think the Pels will the end the Clippers season.

The Cubs face the Rockies in game 2 of this 4 game series. We got a pitchers’ duel last night in the Cubs 5-2 victory and I expect more of the same tonight as we get 2 very good pitchers in M. Stroman & G. Marquez starting. Coors Field is longer the launch pad it used to be with humidors being used by MLB on its baseballs. G. Marquez actually has a better career ERA at home than on the road and M. Stroman is pretty consistent overall. I like both pitchers to contain their opponents’ lineup and this game to stay under the total.

The Mariners start a 3 games series versus the Astros in Seattle. This is will be the Mariners home opener as they started their first 7 games of the season on the road. It will be J. Odorizzi facing M. Gonzales; Gonzales pitched very well at home last season with an ERA around 3.60 which allowed the Mariners to win 60% of his home starts. Odorizzi’s road ERA was not great at 4.50 and the Astros actually had a losing record in his road starts a 6-7. I like the Mariners to carry the momentum of a sold out T Mobile Park to carry them to a victory in their home opener.
