The Stars have a big game versus the Blues tonight in St Louis. If we’ve learnt anything over the last week or so is that needing to win doesn’t mean that you will win. Just ask the Penguins last night in their loss to the Blackhawks of all teams on home ice. The Stars can secure at a minimum home ice advantage in the first round and can stay alive for the division title. The Stars have been in playoff mode for some time now having won 4 straight and I don’t see them taking the Blues lightly tonight.

Houston Astros/Pittsburgh Pirates U9.5 -106

The Astros and Pirates finish off their 3 games series this afternoon, both teams have won a game for far. The Astros send J. Urquidy to the mound to face R. Hill. Neither has been sharp since the start of the season but today we have J. Layne behind home plate and he has a large strike zone as can be seen by the fact that all 3 games he’s umpired so far this season have stayed under the total. Layne wasn’t calling balls and strikes for any great pitchers (Kikuchi, Bubic & Lauer) over the first 3 games and they all went under. Both teams are resting regulars today which should help the under here.

Cleveland Guardians +103

The Yanks and Guardians play the rubber match of their 3 games series this afternoon in Cleveland. The Yanks send C. Schmidt to the mound and he’s been hit around in his 2 starts so far and hasn’t looked very good. The Guardians send P. Battenfield to the mound and if he can limit the damage by Judge, Rizzo & Stanton in the 2, 3 and 4 spots of the lineup, the rest of their lineup isn’t too intimidating today. I like the Guardians as small home dog to take this game and win this series.
