OVERALL RECORD: 32-32-0, -2.03u
RECAP: We only had one MLB play in a loaded slate yesterday and it cashed rather easily, with Max Fried pitching a three-hit shutout to blank the Marlins. The Braves have been rolling lately, and great teams smash bad teams in the MLB – it’s a timeless tradition! Today we have another loaded slate, and we’re looking to rock and roll and keep the momentum.

Hello darkness, my old friend. Today, the New York Mets are going to try to avoid the sweep as they take on the San Francisco Giants in San Fran, and it’s a battle of pitchers trending in different directions as the Giants throw Blake Snell on the mound. The Mets are throwing Sean Manaea, who is looking to keep the blow-ups to a minimum in what is expected to be a low-scoring game.
The Mets have a lot of different Sharp tools on their side, though, especially at a juicy +110 on the moneyline. The SF Giants are on the Book Liabilities side and the Squares side of the Sharp Report, and the Sharp App Money Handles tools are all over it. We have only 27% of the total bets placed on this game in favor of New York, but 82% of the money on this game on the side of the Mets. That’s a difference of 55%, and something that we traditionally look to hammer.
Blake Snell is the Cy Young, I get it – but he just hasn’t been able to find his form so far this season. Whether it’s rust, or a new ballpark, or just different coaching, Snell has allowed 15 earned runs over his first three games, and has yet to pitch over five innings of work. I don’t doubt that, eventually, he will regain his form; but in the meantime, Snell has the highest wOBA of his career, and his average exit velocity is up two MPH than last season, and among the highest of his career.
Manaea is someone who has been more consistent, but is still shaky. We have four sharps on the under in this game, which is actually what propelled me to want to take this line, because they’re banking on Manaea having a decent outing. In three of his first four starts he’s allowed two runs or less, and the Sharps are banking on that continuing.
On the batting side, Lindor and company have actually been incredibly hot as of late, batting around seven runs per game per nine on the road against lefties this season, and overall, averaging five runs per game against lefties. Polar Pete and the gang are seeing the ball well from that throwing arm.
Mets bullpen is superior and this is expected to be a gritty game, so let’s take the grittier team in the New York Mets to grind out a win. We’re seeing all of the signs for a must-play according to my standards, so let’s hammer. Mets for plus-money.
PICK: New York Mets ML
