MLB Bet of the Day | April 10, 2024

In this column, I’ll go through the BEST BET I’m seeing in the league today; this can be in a spread, a moneyline, an Over/Under, or a player prop.

RECAP: Yesterday was another solid day in the MLB as we climbed out of our rough start to the season. We hit our MLB of the Day easily as the Orioles took care of business on the road against the Red Sox, and the Milwaukee Brewers gave us a plus-money winner. The only loss was a hook in the Dodgers & Twins game, where the Twins scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to hit the over, when we had the under. Tough break, but very close to a 3-0 day. On to today!

There’s just something about the AL Central that screams under, and it’s apparent in today’s game too that this game is trending towards hitting that under as well, as the worst team in the league takes on the most surprising start to the 2024 campaign. 

The Chicago White Sox are taking on the Cleveland Guardians in Cleveland, with the best player in the KBO taking on a young gun who is looking to become the best pitcher in the AL Central. Eric Fedde and the White Sox are going to try to keep this game close in a game they may be way overmatched for. 

Fedde has looked really, really good in his two starts this season since coming over to the MLB, including only three earned runs over almost ten innings. His WHIP is slowly climbing, which is the concerning part… but there’s evidence to show that he could show his dominance today, against a lineup that could look a little different today because it’s generally an off-day for some MLB squads. 

On the other side is Tanner Bibee, an ace-in-coming who has dominated the White Sox throughout his career. He hasn’t necessarily been tested this year either, taking on the Oakland Athletics and a depleted Minnesota Twins squad, but this Chicago White Sox team is among the worst I’ve ever seen on a baseball field. They’re averaging less than two runs per game against righties and are hitting a collective .204 against that armed-side, which is resulting in quite a lack of offense for them. 

The Guardians are hitting really well, but haven’t necessarily tied those runs together in long strings that have been formidable. They’re putting up around five runs per game and I would expect them to win this game and push the White Sox under a couple of runs in this one. Even if it’s 6-1, we’re cashing this bet out. 

Let’s take the under and rely on these teams and their pitchers to dominate the opposing lineups.
