OVERALL RECORD: 102-64-2, +30.02u
RECAP:
A phenomenal 3-1 day in the NBA streets, as we nail the NBA of the Day. Our only loss was in Charlotte, where we were two points off of a sweep of a day in the NBA. We rebounded with both the under in Los Angeles and the Clippers dismantling the Heat in the second half, which led to our first time over 30 units on the year in the NBA. Let’s get it today!

January 2, 2024

This could be one of the most exciting games of the NBA season tonight, as the Celtics are taking on the Thunder in what is expected to be a high-flying matchup between two of the top four teams in the entire league. Let’s dive into where the edge is, and what we’re seeing from our Sharps.

Early on the Sharp Report, we saw some crazy line movement in this game’s total. It began at O/U 238.5, and quickly ballooned up to 240.5 after the Sharps got hold of the line. A little bit of buy-back has pushed the line down to 239.5, and I believe that it’s a number that we absolutely hammer. Here’s why:

The Celtics and Thunder are both one of the highest-scoring teams in the league. Both teams have O/U that are positive towards the Over, and their offenses speak for it, too: Boston’s offense ranks sixth in the league, averaging 120 points per game. OKC? Even more proficient, at 4th in the league, scoring 121 points per game. While Boston’s defense has also been stellar (ranking fourth on average in points allowed), they’ve also hit the Over because they have the ability to score at will. As the away favorite, Boston is 8-7 when it comes to O/U this season, and as the home dog, the Thunder are 3-1 on the season towards the Over. As the home team in general, OKC is 12-6 on the season when it comes to the Overs.

The Thunder are the number one offense at home this season, surpassing the mighty Nuggets just recently. They rank third in total scoring, first in field goal percentage, and they’re facing a team that struggles more than at home when defending on the road. The Celtics rank fourth in scoring away from home, while the Thunder rank 19th at stopping opposing offenses on their home court.

The money handles have changed, but truthfully, we’re going to see more and more money come in on this over as the day goes on; I believe that the current line of 239.5 won’t even be attainable by the time we get tip-off here in a few hours.

Hammer the over in this game, as we want to see a ton of points scored, but also, these offenses are rested and need to show out to win this game.

PICK: Boston/Oklahoma City over 239.5
