In this column, Mitch goes through the BEST BET he's seeing in the NBA today.

In this column, I’ll go through the BEST BET I’m seeing in the league today; this can be in a spread, a moneyline, an Over/Under, or a player prop. I’ll explain my reasoning below, and even add in a couple of picks I also like for today.

OVERALL RECORD: 04-02-00, +1.65u
RECAP: Another day in the green as we smash both of our NBA plays on the day, going 2-0 for nearly two units of profit. The Celtics took care of business against the court jester Wizards, winning by 20, and the under in Denver was literally never in doubt, as the Nuggets struggled to score effectively. There were literally under 200 points in that game! Let’s continue to build on this NBA season!

October 25, 2024

One day, we’re going to tell our grandchildren about the defense of the 2023-2024 Indiana Pacers, and how they were just a points factory for opposing teams. This season, people may be expecting different… but not me. The points factory continues tonight, as they head to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knicks.

The Pacers are one of the best teams in the league at setting the pace, and the Sharp Report backs that in its entirety, with three Sharp bettors on the over in this game as well. While I’m no Sharp bettor, I know value when I see it, and Sharp AI is right there as well.

Speaking of setting the pace, they just absolutely obliterated Overs last season in this scenario. Games against conference opponents hit the over at a rate of 61%. As the away underdog (which they are tonight), the over hit at a rate of… 61%. As the underdog as a whole, it hit at a rate of 59%. They just hammered overs, and this roster is constructed very similarly to how it was last season, with even more offensive potential at their disposal with the emergence of Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam.

The Knicks looked like pushovers in their first game of the season, but I expect Karl-Anthony Towns and company to be able to keep up with this Pacers team on offense, as KAT is a much more dynamic offensive distributor and scorer than Julius Randle was last season.

And as the home favorite last season, these O/U totals aren’t as bright and shiny. But that being said, they were much closer to .500 when it came to conference opponents and home favorites, and that margin of victory for the under was by a measly couple of points.

The Pacers went under in their first game of the season. That won’t happen in back to back games, and this is a Knicks team that needs some offensive revenge from their devastating loss to the Celtics. Look for these teams to pick up the pace, and for them to score in abundance.

PICK:  Indiana/New York over 227
