Do you remember the legend of Christmas Day Unders? Long ago, a tale old as time, nearly every game on Christmas Day went under the total. While that isn’t necessarily the case anymore with scorers jumping out of the gym, we are still seeing some significant value on one particular under today, and it’s in the streets of Los Angeles. 

In the most storied rivalry in sports, the Celtics and the Lakers are playing once again on Christmas Day. Our Sharp App AI has this game right at the current total of 234.5, and our Money Handles tool shows absolutely significant value on the under in this game. We’re looking at 93% of the money handle on the under, while the bet percentage is sitting right at our cutoff of 40%. That makes for a 53% difference, and a must-play by our standards here at NBA Bet of the Day. 

Plus, there’s narrative progress to this, too. When playing at home, the Lakers are the #1 Unders team in the league, hitting the under at 75% (or 9 out of their 12 home games). Boston is 15-13 when it comes to the over, but are 8-6 on the road on the over. As the away favorite, that percentage drops even more, at a rate of 7-6 on the season. The Lakers are going to power us to a win here on the under. 

The Lakers are also incredibly competitive at home this season, going a whopping 11-3 on their home court this season. They play competitively, and you know that Lebron and company are not only going to play, but also are going to want to win this game. That comes with a stout defensive unit, ranked 3rd in the league at home in opposing FG percentage. They’re also second in defensive rebounds at home, and they allow the third-least points in the league. They love the lights of LA. 

With all of that being said, let’s take the under in this Lakers game, led by Lebron James & Anthony Davis to not only be stout defensively, but to give us a GREAT game on Christmas. Hammer the under.
