OVERALL RECORD: 82-58-1, +15.61
RECAP:
We’ve hit a couple of freebies in a row, and we’re absolutely making strides back to our season-high we had in the NBA. The total last night went WAY over in the Sixers game, and we also hit the total in the Bulls/Lakers game as well with a bet placed just an hour before tip. We lost our only spread play, which was the Raptors, who I will never bet on again. A winning night!

December 21, 2023

The hottest team in the NBA is playing tonight, and no, it’s not the Bucks, or the Thunder, or the Timberwolves, or the Lakers… it’s the Chicago Bulls, baby.

As you all know, I have a love/hate relationship with my favorite team. I refuse to live in misery, so I’m absolutely loving the current stretch that this team is on - and the line is moving moving moving in their favor already this morning.

The Bulls are taking on the San Antonio Spurs tonight at the United Center in Chicago tonight on the heels of a home back-to-back. Chicago was an abysmal team against the spread to begin the season, and has slowly crawled back to be one of the hottest ATS teams in the league. Over their last ten, the Bulls are 9-1 ATS and that includes some key wins over the Lakers and Sixers, and they’re riding high right now, 7-3 over their last ten. The biggest key has been that Zach Lavine has been out, and Coby White has taken over in his place, meshing well with Vucevic and Derozen.

The Spurs are on the other side of this train, going 1-9 over their last ten games, and are 5-5 ATS during that stretch. As the away team this season, San Antonio is 5-7 ATS on the road and are a measly 2-10 on the road this season.

Our Sharp App Projections have this game at around -5.5, so we still have a point of wiggle room, and this line has been moving since it opened at -3. It will probably settle around -5, or stick at this -4.5 line. We’ll have to see.

The key here is the “No Rest” thing. A back-to-back can be tough, and we don’t have a huge sample size, but the Bulls are 2-3 on a back-to-back. The Spurs are rested and recently was blown out by Milwaukee two days ago.

Nevertheless, the Bulls have been extremely hot at home and as of late. Over their last five games they’re league-average at scoring, and facing one of the worst collective defenses in the league in San Antonio. The Bulls have the fourth-ranked total scoring defense in the league over their last five games, and are playing at an extremely high level. Let’s rock with Chicago tonight to get the win by more than five.

PICK: Chicago Bulls -4.5
