RECAP:
Last season, I wrote an article called “Follow the Trends” twice a week, where I looked at specific players and teams who were hot in a specific area, like Over/Unders, PPG, RPG, etc. This season, we’re going BACK to picks, where I’ll give you one free pick every single day, and some videos sprinkled throughout the week. Let’s get it this season!

PICK: Los Angeles/Denver u228.5
There’s been a lot of chatter over this offseason between these two teams, which has quietly sparked quite the rivalry; the problem, though, is that the Lakers don’t necessarily have any ground to stand on, since the Denver Nuggets are our reigning NBA Champs and swept this Los Angeles team in the playoffs. That could change today.

The Sharp App AI is seeing this game actually finishing around 226, and I think it could finish even lower than that. This Denver defense last season was stifling, especially as we hit the fourth quarter; in fact, this Denver defense hit the 4Q under in over seventy-percent of their regular-season games last season, mostly because either they had clamps as the clock winded down, or they were up by so much that all of the backups were in and weren’t making anything.

As well, this Lakers team brought reinforcements. Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, and even Cam Reddish could provide some depth for this Lakers team defensively. But all eyes will be on Lebron James, and if he can keep this team afloat offensively; he’s scored over thirty in the past two opening nights, and he’s looking to make it three straight tonight. Austin Reeves is also obviously looking to take a step forward, but will this be the season that it happens?

Denver obviously has quite the returning starting-five, not losing a single player from their starters that won the title. But, the loss of Bruce Brown could deem important, and there have been many letdowns on Ring Nights before… and I expect this game to be tight.

Offense can take a while to get up and going, while defense is all mental. Let’s take the under tonight, on a night where we could have some unexpected intensity from these two teams on the defensive end.
