Mitch's NBA Bet of the Day | November 6, 2023

In this column, I’ll go through the BEST BET I’m seeing in the league today; this can be in a spread, a moneyline, an Over/Under, or a player prop.

RECAP: We hit another winner last night, with big thanks to an overtime! Our line was the over 220.5, and when overtime hit, we were at 220 exactly - that would have been a brutal hook. Tonight, we have a huge slate and lots of games to bet on - and I’ll be targeting one right now, here in the early morning, before the lines shift.

PICK: Dallas Mavericks +1.5
This is projected to be a close game; heck, our Sharp App AI has this game even closer than a 1.5 swing, and has it as .5 in favor of the Dallas Mavericks. But that’s not even the reason why we’re going against this initial line… because the money is certainly interesting. 

There is serious money on the side of Orlando for tonight’s game between these two teams with really good starts to the year. Orlando has 43% of the bets, but holds 83% of the money, which indicates Sharp Money. But here’s the thing: the sharps haven’t exactly excelled in the month of November. In fact, they’re currently down about six units, according to our Sharp Report Tracker (which you can find in our Sharp App Discord, linked below). 

To me, any time there’s a close game, I’m going to be turning to the best clutch player in the league, and that’s Luka Doncic. Luka has been on a tear so far to begin this young season, nearly averaging a triple-double, and he’s already looked like he’s taking steps forward as a leader and as the star of a team. Kyrie Irving has been an excellent compliment to his play style, and they’ve been able to feed off of each other really well when they’re on the court together. The problem is that they may not be on the court together every game; in fact, the Mavericks just played last night. 

That being said, if Luka is on the floor, then I trust Dallas to get the job done. The Magic, though, are no joke - they’ve had an incredible start to the season - but not all that glitters is gold. This Orlando offense is ranking 21st in the league in FG%, and near last in the league in 3’s. Their strength is in rebounding, with Paolo Banchero taking a big leap in that department to begin the year. But this Dallas offense has been on another level to begin the season, and I trust them in big spots to win games. 

I know that this is a team that is weary with their players, and there’s a good chance that Kyrie Irving might not play on a back-to-back - but I’m going to take my chances, and if Luka is on the floor, then I’m feeling good. Let’s take the Mavs with a point in hand.
