Luck was not on our side with our Rybakina play, she broke I. Swiatek 3 times in the first set and still found a way to lose it. You knew it was going to be downhill after that as Swiatek broke her early in the second set and took the match with ease.

American A. Michelsen faces Frenchman C. Lestienne in round 1 of the Los Cabos Open tomorrow afternoon. The 19 year old Michelsen surprised many, making it to the 3rd round of the Aussie Open in January and gave Delray Beach Open finalist T. Paul one hell of a fight in their 2nd round match taking him to a decisive 3rd set tie breaker. We bet against Lestienne in his 2nd round match of the Delray Beach Open when he faced another young American in P. Kypson and that was very fruitful as Kypson handled him easily in straight sets. I watched that match and Lestienne plays an odd game of tennis, trying drop shots when they aren't called for to try and surprise his opponents. Unfortunately for him, he does not have the talent nor finesse in his game to succeed when attempting these type of maneuvers. Lestienne has a losing record (4-7) on the season for a reason and does not have the power stroke to succeed on a fast surfaces and beat a young powerful player like Michelsen. Like last week, I like another young American player to take care of Lestienne in straight sets.
