Val's Buenos Aires Final Play
Val
Luck was not on our side with our Rybakina play, she broke I. Swiatek 3 times in the first set and still found a way to lose it. You knew it was going to be downhill after that as Swiatek broke her early in the second set and took the match with ease.
Record 17-16 (+2.83 units)
Nicolas Jarry/Facundo Diaz Acosta O2.5 sets +132 (Risk 1 for 1.32 units) Expected start time 2pm EST Feb 18th.
We have Chilean N. Jarry facing Argentine F. Diaz Acosta in the final of the Buenos Aires Open. Both players have been great in this tournament, Jarry eliminated former #3 ranked S. Wawrinka in Rd 1, then a fan favorite, Argentine T. Etcheverry in Rd 2 and his most impressive win was yesterday when he beat current #2 ranked C. Alcaraz. I watched Jarry's match from yesterday and I must give him credit, his serve was on point and he played well, however, Alcaraz did look off and was not playing his best tennis, so his win was not overly surprising. Diaz Acosta has not played the big names Jarry has to this point in this tournament but has dominated all his opponents with relative ease, I believe he would have beaten bigger names had he played them. These two have played on 3 occasions in the past and all 3 times a 3rd set was needed to determine the winner. With both playing so well I don't see a scenario were a 3rd set isn't needed again today.
