NBA Bet of the Day | January 27, 2024

My leans would have went 1-2, so we profited by not playing the slate, surprisingly. We won our last NBA of the Day on a last-second hold-off, and we went 3-0. Let’s keep that profit going.

This is one of the most puke-ridden games of the year of the century,  and we’re betting on it, because we’re degenerate sickos who grabs on to any leans that we have in the industry. And today, the money handles tool is holding us captive, as we’re going to pick one of these lowlife teams to stay in the game. 

The Washington Wizards are heading to Detroit to take on the Pistons, who made headlines earlier in the year for their losing streak. They’ve won five games so far this year, and one of those games is against this Wizards team, led by Jordan Poole and Kyle Kuzma. 

Our Money Handles tool is all over this game, even looking strong on the money line, too. The Wizards own only 38% of the betting handle on this game, but have really rocked out when it comes to the money coming in, gaining 89% of the money overnight. That’s a difference of 51% on these early returns, which is good enough for me to pull the trigger. 

If we also look at the Sharp AI, we’re seeing that the Pistons should be favored by 2.5 points - and that means that it falls right into our realm at +3. 

As well, the actual offensive stats all fall into favor of the Wizards, who have actually proven to be a weirdly competent ATS team on the road. As the road underdog, in which they’ve been in many situations before, they’re 13-9 on the season - one of the highest success rates in the entire NBA. The Pistons are very rarely favored at home, but they’ve only covered ONCE out of those four times. It’s not a huge sample size, but it’s definitely in our favor. 

This Detroit offense has been inept at home, scoring an average of only 111 points per game. While the Pistons might not be a juggernaut of a team, the Wizards are actually better defensively on the road than at home this season. And on the other side of the ball, we’re seeing the Wizards rank fifteenth in the league in away scoring, and they cause the second-most turnovers in the league. 

Don’t puke, but we’re taking the Wizards +3 in this game. It’s nasty. I know. It’s early. I know. Anything can happen. Hammer the Wizards and let’s get an early win today.
