WNBA BETTING MODEL FOR JUNE 30, 2023

What's the buzz, hoops fans? Last night, we witnessed the Aces laying down a power move against the Liberty. The game started neck-and-neck, but the Aces put the pedal to the metal in the second half. The Storm? Well, they had a shot at payback against the Lynx, but that turned out to be a big old NOPE. Another blowout, just as we had predicted in yesterday's roundup.

Tonight, we have a matchup that both my model and I are agreeing with. The Mystics are heading to Atlanta, and the bookies initially set the line at -1.5, seemingly following the lead of other market makers. But if you look at the raw projection, it's sitting at -6.5. My trusty margin model even suggests a line of -7.8 without taking Austin's absence into account. Now, the line has shifted to -2.5, backed by some sharp money.

The Mystics have been tearing it up lately, with a 7-3 record in their last 10 games, a 5-0 ATS in their last 5, and a 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games against teams with a losing straight-up record. They've shown no mercy to the weaker teams in the league. They've also had Atlanta's number, going 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings in Atlanta and 20-5-2 ATS in their last 27 meetings overall.

Sure, momentum can be a fickle beast in the WNBA, as I've mentioned this week, but this game is simply too tempting to pass up. To sum it up, Washington has been a nightmare for Atlanta, winning and covering the spread in each of their last five encounters. Washington has been consistent in covering the spread in its last five overall, whereas Atlanta has been struggling, failing to cover in 15 of its last 23.

Even with Austin sidelined, the Mystics' Delle Donne and Atkins are going to bring the heat. Their scoring prowess and rebounding strength will likely prove too much for Atlanta to handle. So, get your popcorn ready and enjoy the game, folks!
