Overnight Grind : Market Makers VS Sharps February 19 2022

Market Makers are sportsbooks that are first to post a line and set the market. They will control risk by setting their bet limits lower when posting a spread or moneyline before everyone else. Once the market adjusted, they max their bet limits.

YES it's a weekend edition of the Overnight Grid. It's a short version however you will get then enough info to help you. The sharps were right on the over and the LA kings team total over 2.5 yesterday. They were also right about the Stars, it wasn't an easy one however they won in OT. Both sharps and I were dead wrong on the Bulldogs. My gosh, they got completely destroyed.

Let's chat a little NHL :

Anyone who likes favourites in the NHL today needs to get ready to pay up, but don't feel bad about getting a shitty number or being far from the closing number. There is a ton of money coming in the NHL due to the NBA degens and books are inflating the numbers or overreacting when the average action on the team increases significantly.

1. COL is up 100 pts since opening, from -300 to -400... they should win by a FG
   

2. Toronto .. a popular team is up 46 pts... from -135 to -181
   

3. Boston is n a similar spot them Toronto is up 3 pts... from -143 to -173
   

4. VAN is up 25 pts from -130 to -155

Sharps did hit Arizona, LA is on a b2b and they fought really hard last night + had to play in OT. This can be a letdown spot for the Kings after yesterday's huge win.

Sharps also like Boston to bounce back from a terrible game in NY earlier this week.

Totals are stable except for COL / BUF where a high % of the handle kept coming on the under which pushed the book to drop the total from 6.5 to 6.

In Winnipeg, we expect a blowout the way the Jets have been scoring and squares have lots of interest on the over 6 therefore the book adjusted the total from 6 to 6.5.

In College basketball, there are 5 games that stand out in terms of total wagered volume.

• Auburn / Florida: This line has been all over the place and we have 2 sets of sharps on this game. Those that like AUB at -25 and -3.5 and others that support FLA at +4.5 or better.

• Illinois / Michigan State: Illinois received most of the support at a pickem and -1 and the over is where sharp money landed all the way up to 138.

• Texas Teach / Texas: McCullar and Mitchell are out in this game and the handle shifted to Texas last night causing a 4.5 swing move for Texas. It's now stable at -3.5 and the handle is 50/50. I see no sharp interest in this game.

• Alabama / Kentucky: Sharps like Bama here, they hit them at +9, +7.5 and +7. KU holds 55% of the handle however the big bets are on Alabama.

• TCU / Baylor: Baylor holds 67% of the handle in this game and the book hasn't really moved the line much. The total has been on the move in the last 24 hours and moved from 137 to 140 and back down to 138. We did see small sharp interest on the under 138.
