Val's ATP Indian Wells Open Play Round 3

What a performance by A. Blinkova, not only did she win a set, she won the match as a huge dog, don't we wish we would have played her straight up, but +1.28 units is a nice profit on the day! Today we go to the ATP for a play.

Two youngsters face off this afternoon at Indian Wells when 23 year old Canadian F. Auger Aliassime (FAA) faces 20 year old Spaniard C. Alcaraz in the 3rd round. Both players got a 1st round bye, however, their 2nd round matches went a little differently, FAA won his match versus Frenchmen C. Lestienne with relative ease 6-4 6-1 while Alcaraz lost the 1st set of his match before roaring back to win 6-7 6-0 6-1 versus Italian M. Arnaldi. I question if Alcaraz is 100% healthy at the moment, he wasn't moving well at all in a match in mid February versus N. Jarry in Buenos Aires, he followed that up by retiring in a match versus T. Montero the following week in Rio de Janeiro in the 1st round and did not participate in tournaments the 2 weeks prior to  Indian Wells. You saw that he still wasn't in top form in his 2nd round match versus Arnaldi. I will admit that FAA is not in his best form, but has taken quality players like Russian A. Rublev (ranked #5) and Kazakhstani A. Bublik (ranked #20) to a decisive 3rd set in matches this season, plus FAA has won 3 of 4 matches versus Alcaraz in his career. I like FAA to take a set in this match today.
