Every total and every receiving prop quietly assumes a number of plays. If that number is off by five, the whole projection is off with it. NFL pace and pass rate are the two dials that set play volume, and they are easier to misread than they look. You will walk from drives to plays per drive to snaps to dropbacks to official pass attempts, one clean step at a time, and learn why sacks and scrambles break the chain if you ignore them. You will also see how a team protecting a lead throws less than the same team chasing one. Get volume right first, and the player numbers stacked on top of it start to make sense.
