Overnight Grind : Market Makers VS Sharps November 23, 2022

Market Makers are sportsbooks that are the first to post a line and set the market. They will control risk by lowering their bet limits when posting a spread or Moneyline before everyone else. Once the market adjusted, they max their bet limits. Talbot has been hot and won his last 8 starts but don't discount Jarry he's been solid this year.

We look for sharps to be much more active in the NHL and NBA since the MLB is almost over however this is not these are not sports that sharps are the most excited about since market makers tend to have very low max limits early on most of the games. The NBA sees much more action than the NHL.

For VIPs, your best start would be to look at the morning sharp report, which will give you an excellent summary of what happened overnight. In the afternoon, the sharp report updates and games might be added or removed based on what happened in the morning. The last update is around 4-5 pm EST and not much movement is expected after that. If there is movement, it will usually be square money loading up on games before they start.

RECAP of yesterday's games: Eastern Michigan lost and failed to cover but Southern Miss destroyed Winthrop and easily covered. Miami Ohio under was never a sweat, the game finished at 35 pts.

We have huge slates in both NHL and NBA and that is where our focus will be. Some weird shit happened in Buffalo. St Louis opened at -170 and the line dropped 30 pts and is now at -140. The Sabres are going with their backup goalie and they played last night. It's rare we see a team that played the day before getting this much love. Binning is projected which is making this ever weirder. Buffalo +128 is still getting action.

Another favorite that took a hit is the Rangers. The Ducks opened a +155 underdog at market markers and smart money came in at +155, +145, and +140.

The over in Cleveland attracted some early interest however since then it's all been about the under. It all started very early this morning with a sharp hit the under 217 on the available max limits. Since then the under kept on getting slammed and the books had no choice but to drop to 213.5.
