Overnight Grind : Market Makers VS Sharps May 25, 2022

While most of us are sleeping, Market Makers and Sharps are adjusting the markets so that by the time we wake up and are ready to bet, the markets have adjusted in favour of the sportsbook. Let's take a quick look at some games where the sportsbooks had to make some adjustments based on heavy sharp interest.

Market Makers are sportsbooks that are the first to post a line and set the market. They will control risk by setting their bet limits lower when posting a spread or Moneyline before everyone else. Once the market adjusted, they max their bet limits. Talbot has been hot and won his last 8 starts but don't discount Jarry he's been solid this year.

RECAP: It was a clean sheet for sharps last night. The Oilers took a 3-1 lead with a 5-3 win, the Mavs save face and elimination, Milwaukee wins 4-1 in San Diego and the Phillies over 7.5 hits in the 9th inning.

The Avs will be closing their series on Wednesday and will send the Blue packing with at least having won 1 game. The Blues did look good in the first 2 games but the Avs adjusted really quickly and it was hard for the Blues to maintain the game tempo the Avs were imposing. Husson looks like the Husso of 2 years ago and can't seem to be able to stop a beach ball. The sharps have been quiet on this game and don't expect them to take a position either. Betonline opened the Avs a -225 and received minimal interest on the side and total. They moved the line up to -245 as other market makers opened their lines. The bet limits are already at 15k hence, don't expect sharps to jump on the -245. Colorado takes this game 4-1.

Another team that looks done is the Heat. I was about to say that I can't recall seeing an NBA be so shitty this year but I'd be lying. We've seen a ton of shitty games this year however, never i would have expected all these blowouts in the playoffs. I saw someone mention on Twitter that a sharp laid a big bet on Miami -1.5 at Ceasars NJ but the line never moved. As for the offshore market, I don't see any sharp money yet however they did move the number from -1 to -1.5 with 80% of the handle on the Celtics. My NBA model has this game close to a pick therefore there is no value. In game 4 we finally got to see the defensive type of game we've been expecting between these two teams. Both teams shot under 40% but Miami was terrible at 33%. Boston is the top aDRTG team in the league and we will be seeing the lowest total of the series at 203. I will update this section tomorrow morning if anything happened overnight.

The sharp report is showing 5 MLB picks early this morning. Get your free month in one of the links in this article and unlock the whole sharp report! This total hasn't moved yet and you still have time to get the number the sharps are hitting. Sharps will continue to support the under between the Brewers and Padres. The under 7.5 -115 was hit late last night and should be on its way to 7. Strong pitching from both teams has helped the under trends. Personally, every time I bet on Darvish and take him in DFS I get burnt so I will stay away from this total. My model has this game at 7.93 therefore no value.

Good luck today
