Overnight Grind : Market Makers VS Sharps July 7, 2022

Market Makers are sportsbooks that are the first to post a line and set the market. They will control risk by lowering their bet limits when posting a spread or Moneyline before everyone else. Once the market adjusted, they max their bet limits. Talbot has been hot and won his last 8 starts but don't discount Jarry he's been solid this year.

RECAP: The sharps and model were wrong on the Cardinals today. I liked them also but only added them in a small parlay.

We look for sharps to be much more active in MLB now that the NHL and NBA seasons are over however this is not the sport that sharps are the most excited about since market makers tend to have very low max limits early on most of the games due to many variables in MLB. Weather is one of them and probably the most important.

For VIPs, your best start would be to look at the sharp report in the morning which will give you an excellent summary of what happened overnight. In the afternoon, the sharp report updates and games might be added or removed based on what happened in the morning. The last update is around 4-5 pm EST and not much movement is expected after that. If there is movement, it will usually be square money loading up on games before they start.

Another tool that can be used with the sharp report is the MLB model on our website. Comparing the sharp money with our projection can help you make your own picks if both the model and sharp agree.

For Thursday, there is not much happening late Wednesday night. We do have sharp money on the Braves but that's about it. They opened at -191 and books have already adjusted the moneyline to -210 and it should keep on climbing overnight. My model has this line at -200 and the Braves xTT is at 6 runs. Liberatore hasn't been good and gave 20 hits in his last 11 IPs on the road (3 games) He should get roughed up and the Cardinals might need to go their bullpen very early. For now, there aren't any games that both the sharps and model agree on.

UPDATE:

The sharps and betting model agree on the under 8.5 between the Tigers and White Sox. The total did drop to 8 at some books therefore if you still have it at 8.5 jumps on it asap since it will drop everywhere soon. The Tigers have won 4 straight and have scored 28 runs making them one of the hottest offense in the last week. Cease has allowed 2 ER in the last 7 outings and he's been elite. Can the hot Tigers offense get to him the way they got to Bieber? Briesky is showing issues with his control and has allowed 3 BB in the last 2 games. He has an ERA of 7.36 in his L3 with a WHIP of 1.73. Not good. I won't support the under in this game.
