Overnight Grind : Market Makers VS Sharps January 28

Market Makers are sportsbooks that are first to post a line and set the market. They will control risk by setting their bet limits lower when posting a spread or moneyline before
everyone else. Once the market adjusted, they max their bet limits.

Sharps were right about Carolina however it wasn't easy for them. The Habs gave a great effort but never bet on them. I was concerned about the Panther's first game back after a road trip but I was wrong. Sharps were right about them!

MINNESOTA WILD

We were on the Rangers yesterday and that was disappointing. Georgiev was terrible allowed 4 goals on 18 SOG. The Rangers are 5-2-1 on B2B games this year. The Wild are top 10 in scoring on the road while the Rangers have a top 3 defense at home this year. Minnesota has been impressive last 5 games posting 4 games of over 40 SOG per game and scoring over 5 goals per game. With that said I was still surprised to see the Wild opening a favourite in NY. The Rangers are 28-12 this season and 13-3 at home.... this is not the Flyers!! Anyway, the Wild opened at -115 this morning and the -115, -123 were hit pushing the line to -140. It's Shesterkin in nets tonight, Georgiev was in last night. My model has the WIld at -153 so I guess ill have to agree with the sharps on the move but still makes no sense to me.

DALLAS STARS

I'm always comfortable betting the Stars at home. On the road, meh.... they are one of the worst with 12 losses in regulation. Tonight we have 2 teams that are going in a different direction recently. If you want to buy low on the Caps tonight is the night. We were on them 2 nights ago VS San Jose and they were terrible. Before that, vs VEGAS ... terrible. They beat Ottawa 3-2 but didn't look too dominating and vs BOS they mustard 17 freaking SOG on Ullmark! Dallas winning of 4 of 5, scoring over 4 goals per game and shooting over 35 SOG per game on their last road trip. They are feeling pretty good about themselves going 4-0 on their last road trip however let's not kid ourselves, they played NJ, PHI, DET and BUF. The Stars were steamed the minute the line opened yesterday morning. Sharps hit the +10+, -101 and -110 pushing this line -125. My NHL model has the Stars at -115. I like the Stars tonight, especially the way the Caps have been playing.

SAN ANTONIO SPURS

Betonline posted the Bulls at -4 yesterday afternoon. Within the first 50 min the line dropped to -2. By this morning it was going up and down and now settled at -1. Max bet limits are still low but I don't expect much movement in this game unless Vucevic is ruled out. The Bulls have a winning record on the road this year however they have dropped 4 of their last 5. I think the Spurs are better than what their records show however I believe the Bulls are not getting enough respect in this game. My model doesn't agree with the sharps here. The Bulls are a model play in the NBA tonight with a projected implied win % of 58%.
