Overnight Grind : Market Makers VS Sharps January 10 2022

While most of us are sleeping, Market Makers and Sharps are adjusting the markets so that by the time we wake up and are ready to bet, the markets have adjusted in favour of the sportsbook. Let's take a quick look at some games where the sportsbooks had to make some adjustments based on heavy sharp interest.
Market Makers are sportsbooks that are first to post a line and set the market. They will control risk by setting their bet limits lower when posting a spread or moneyline beforeeveryone else. Once the market adjusted, they max their bet limits.
Now that the NFL season is over, the focus will be on the NBA from the sharps.
UTAH JAZZ
The 28-12 Jazz are 0-5 in their last 5 games following a straight-up loss of more than 10 points. They are facing the 8-30 Pistons on the road. The sharps like this match-up where the #1 offense in the league is facing one of the worst offenses. The Jazz opened a 10.5 pt favourite yesterday afternoon and sharps hit the -10.5 and -11. The line is sitting at -12 at the moment. My NBA model has the Jazz at -9.5 without Gobert in the lineup which they missed in the last 2 games giving up a ton of points. The Pistons are 9-9 ATS at home this season and have covered 3 of their last 5. The Jazz has a perfect 10-0 record vs DET in their last 10 and are 7-2-1 ATS. I see this line dropping a little.
COLORADO AVALANCHE
Hey, sharps what do you think about a -330 favourite?? NO PROBLEM!!!! Seattle hasn't played since Jan 1st. They lost their last 5 allowing 4.6 GF/G and now they will face Colorado which is the top-scoring team in the league smashing 4.35 GF/G. 5dimes opened the Avalanche a -340 favourite while Sugarhouse opened at -315. The -315 got smashed, so did the -240 and -375. It's now at -420 at some books. My NHL model has Colorado a -303 favourite with Francouz projected.
There is not much more movement in both the NBA and NHL. Monday's are usually slow. We do see much more movement in college basketball. Top movers are the following:
American under: from 131 to 219
Omaha from +11.5 to +9
Colgate from -7 to -8.5
Denver from +7.5 to +4.5
