Overnight Grind : Market Makers VS Sharps February 7 2022

While most of us are sleeping, Market Makers and Sharps are adjusting the markets so that by the time we wake up and are ready to bet, the markets have adjusted in favour of the sportsbook. Let's take a quick look at some games where the sportsbooks had to make some adjustments based on heavy sharp interest.
Market Makers are sportsbooks that are first to post a line and set the market. They will control risk by setting their bet limits lower when posting a spread or moneyline beforeeveryone else. Once the market adjusted, they max their bet limits.

Knicks / Jazz overLet's get this one out of the way right now. 5dimes opened this total at 213.5 yesterday afternoon. Sugarhouse did the same however late yesterday evening. Overnight 5dimes got slammed on the over 213.5, 214.5 and 215.5 pushing the total to 218.5. The Knicks are on a tough road trip that didn't start well in LA. The Jazz has not been good lately however just put up 2 huge b2b wins vs the Nets and Nuggets. The Knicks gave up over 120 in 3 of their last 5 and have not looked like that top 5 road defense as of late. The total has gone OVER in 4 of New York's last 5 games on the road and has gone OVER in 8 of New York's last 11 games when playing Utah. Tonight they will face one of the best offenses in the league. Max bet limits are still low and this total moved a lot from its opening. It's also very possible that 5dimes did a mistake evaluating the opening number of this total. Betonline opened the total at 217.5 this morning. My NBA model has this game's total at 216. I understand the sharp interest in the over especially the way knicks have been playing D.
TORONTO RAPTORS
Lots of trade talks around the Raptors as of late. Chris Boucher, one of my favourite rookies has been mentioned in many reports. I hope he sticks around, I'd like to see him play live. Raptors have been hot winning 5 straight and going 5-0 ATS with an average of 5 pts ATS margin. The offense exploded in the last 5 games blasting the over by an average of 15 pts margin in 4 of their last 5. Charlotte is 2-6 in their last 8, 4-6 ATS last 10 and getting completely smoked by MIA last game. The Hornets offense is averaging under 100 pts per game in their last 4 and will face one of the best teams on the road ATS. The line for this game opened as a pick at 5dimes yesterday afternoon and sharps jumped on the Raptors. 65% of the handle is on the visiting team. Bet limits are once again low and we can see this line move up in the afternoon. My NBA model has the Raptors a 3 favourite and doesn't show value however all momentum is on their side and I agree with the sharps. Here are some CBB games with sharp interest however I don't have more info as these moves occurred at another book.
