Overnight Grind : Market Makers VS Sharps April 27, 2022

Market Makers are sportsbooks that are the first to post a line and set the market. They will control risk by setting their bet limits lower when posting a spread or Moneyline before everyone else. Once the market adjusted, they max their bet limits. Talbot has been hot and won his last 8 starts but don't discount Jarry he's been solid this year.

Leafs played a great defensive game versus one of the worst teams in the league and only put up 3 goals versus one of the worst defensive teams.... sharps were wrong on the over. The sharps were right about the Marlins and we also had them as a tier1 play!

Five games in the NHL on Wednesday. A couple of meaningless games. The Jets are frustrated and should destroy the Flyers. The Habs are going for 10 straight losses and setting a record going back to the 30s. The Stars will be playing a huge game versus Arizona especially if they lose to Vegas (the game just started as I'm writing this). Vegas will be playing in a huge game in Chicago if they beat Dallas. And the Kings are also playing in a big game in Seattle. All of this to say that the only game I've seen sharp money, for now, is on the over in Winnipeg. Total is still at 6 at most places but it moved to 6.5 at a market maker and it will be moving everywhere anytime soon. Both defenses have been terrible as of late and believe it or not the Flyer's offense has been outscoring the Jets offense in the last 5 games. My NHL model has this game at 6.08 with Jones and Hellebuyck projected. I don't find much value in this total and ill pass.

Not much going on in the NBA. Levine entered C19 protocol and the line moved 1.5 pts in favour of the Bucks with 90% of the handle on them. 5dimes saw some sharp money come in a -10 for the Bucks. As for the total the over 217.5 was hit and the under 219.5 was hit also. I'll update in the morning if something happens overnight.

In the MLB the sharps are sleeping when picking on a side. The totals keep on being low and the average total in the Wednesday slate is at 7.93. There have been 5 adjustments of 0.5 run and the focus keeps on being on the totals for the sharps. I will be getting another update shortly however for now I see interest in the Houston Over 8, Minnesota under 7.5, Toronto under 9, Baltimore over 7.5, KC over 7 and St Louis under 7.5. All of them have already moved in most markets except the Toronto game. I prefer to stick on picking sides this early in this season and there is small interest in the Mets but the line is moving the other way. I will update in the morning since I do expect some movement overnight.

UPDATE:

A big shift in the Habs game. +322 to +188 with the news of the Breadman out and Georgiev in nets. The was interest on the Rangers overnight in the range of -345 but it's all been Montreal money since 8 am this morning.

In the NBA, with the news of Caruso also out the line moved another 1.5 pts but there is no sharp indication. Sharps were on the Bucks at -10.
