TNF: Houston Texans vs Philadelphia Eagles

The Botton line article will lead us in making the right call on high-profile games. I will cover TNF, SNF, and MNF. I will also cover big baseball games, the NBA, and the NHL.

Tonight we are covering TNF between the Texans and the Eagles.

Even though not facing some really good teams, we can't take anything away from how great the Eagles have been. Their offense is well-balanced, they score close to 30 pts per game, and they allow under 20 per game. Hurts has been outstanding and the play-calling suits him well. The Eagles are 3rd in most play-action plays and with Houston's defense allowing over 400 yards per game, this can be a long night for them.

Hurts rushing yard prop is at 41.5 and I find this a little low taking into consideration that the Texans allowed over 180 rushing yards per game. FFS last game Houston allowed 314 rushing yards to Henry and the Titans and their L3 game average is over 200 yards per game.

The Texans can be tricky to handicap at times. They deserved better versus the Raiders but looked like shit versus the Titans. One thing is for sure, they won't be going too far with Davis at QB and he ranks almost dead last in QB rating. Davis has only 3 wins in his 18 starts and his team is 1-7 ATS in the last 8 TNF primetime games.

The Birds -13.5 seems like an easy number to cover however Philly hasn't done well in road non-divisional matchups where they are the favorite by 5 or more points. They are 0-8 ATS in that spot. Lastly, they are 0-6 ATS in games before an MNF game. Hmmmmmm.......

The Bottom line: Screw those trends (but they do worry me a little). The Eagles have been dominant this year and nothing should change in Houston tonight. The defense should come up with some big plays and the pressure will be insane for poor Davis. Look for the secondaries to continue their great work and also create some turnovers. Philadelphia should dominate this game on both sides and i strongly believe only a late garbage TD can mess up the cover today.
