The Dbacks host the Padres for G3 of this 4 game series; it is knotted at a game apiece after the first 2. Tonight J. Musgrove faces Z. Gallen on the mound; Musgrove is currently in a slump at the moment when you consider how dominant he was earlier in the year. His ERA is 4.15 in his last 7 starts, which is high considering he had an ERA hovering around 2.00 in the first half. Gallen gave up his first earned runs in 6 starts his last game; he had a stretch of 41 and 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball. I like Gallen to be able to shut down the Padres offense and the DBacks to win by 2 or more.

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 +157

The Phils bullpen turned a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the 8th last night into a 7-2 loss to the Braves. They look to bounce back tonight when A. Nola faces J. Odorizzi; Nola has made 3 starts versus the Braves this season with the Phils winning 2 of 3 by multiple runs. Odorizzi hasn’t been pitching well lately and has struggled going last into game, he hasn’t made it past the 6th inning in 6 straight starts and the Braves have lost 4 of the 6 with 3 by multiple runs. I like the Phils with the better pitcher on the mound at a nice price.

Cleveland Guardians -1.5 +122 (G1 of doubleheader)

We had the Twins as a play at plus money yesterday and B. Ober pitched well as I expected but it was another case of the bullpen faltering and a 3-0 lead turned into a 4-3 loss. Now the Twins have to face J. Bieber who has dominated them all season; in 3 starts the Guardians are 3-0 and his stat line is as follows: 18 2/3 IP, 5 ER and 19 SO. It is do or die for the Twins this weekend and they got off on the wrong foot last night blowing a lead and I think this will affect them for the rest of this series. I like Bieber and the Guardians by multiple runs here.
