The Canucks return home after a successful east coast road trip that saw them go 2-1 with wins over the Habs and Senators, normally I'm not one to back a team their first game back from a long trip but Canucks have been back in Vancouver since Sunday night and have had time to adjust to the time change. To say their opponent tonight the Islanders are struggling in an understatement, they've lost 5 straight and their last 4 losses have all been by multiple goals. The Isles have only scored 9 combined goals during this losing streak and they will struglle again tonight versus T. Demko, I like the Canucks by multiple goals.

Anaheim Ducks/Colorado Avalanche O6.5 -105

The Ducks face the Avs tonight, the Ducks are on a B2B after beating the Preds last night 3-2 while the Avs are looking to right the ship as they've lost 5 of their last 8 games. Goaltending has been an issue for the Avs as 4+ goals against has almost become the norm for them of late. Projected starters in goal are L. Dostal and A. Georgiev and both have a GAA north of 3.00 which will help opposing team offensively. I like both sides to get to 3 goals each tonight which would cash the over here.

Edmonton Oilers -1.5 +134

I mentioned in my Nov 11th write up that the Oilers had finally hit rock bottom when they lost to the Sharks 3-2, since then they won 2 straight, fired their head coach in between wins which was odd and look to be playing better hockey. With the talent this team has, it was only a matter of time before things turned around, but as I've mentioned countless times, goaltending is critical for this team to have success. S. Skinner is finally playing better with only 2 goals allowed in his last 2 starts and if that can continue the Oilers will climb back up the standings. The Oilers have won 2 straight by multiple goals, tonight they make it 3.
