Toronto Blus Jays -1.5 +138

The Jays look to even up this series at 2 games apiece this afternoon when K. Gausman faces S. Armstrong on the mound. The Jays won on opening day 8-2 but their offense has looked none existent over the last 2 days scoring a combined 3 runs in an 8-2 and 5-1 losses. The big plus for them today is that Gausman is most probably their best starting pitcher and there is a big discrepancy in talent between he and Armstrong. Gausman was in the Cy Young conversation last season and will probably be there again this season as he leads the Blue Jays rotation. Armstrong made 6 starts last season but every one of them was a bullpen game where he never pitched more than 2 innings, I like the Jays offense to wake up today as they get a multiple run win over the Rays.

Miami Marlins -131

The Marlins look to salvage a game of this 4 game series versus the Pirates this afternoon, the Pirates have won the first 3 games and last last 2 wins have been in convincing fashion 7-2 & 9-3. Today it will be B. Falter versus T. Rogers on the mound, Falter spent last season split between the Phillies and Pirates and he didn't pitch well for either club. He had a 1-8 of his 14 starts while sporting a 6.57 ERA. Rogers has his 2023 shortened because of an injury, however, was in the mix for rookie of the year back in 2021 when he had a sub 3.00 ERA. Falter hasn't been able to provide his team with any level on consistency when on the mound and like the Marlins to hit him around and finally get their first win of the 2024 season.

Baltimore Orioles -141

The season has not started well for M. Trout and the Angels, they're 0-2 and sit at a run differential of -17. Neither P. Sandoval nor G. Canning were able to stop the red hot Orioles at bat, Sandoval did not get out of the 2nd inning while Canning couldn't pitch more than 5 innings. Today it will be R. Detmers versus T. Wells on the mound, Detmers was serviceable last season with a 4.54 ERA, however, he was terrible on the road with a 1-6 record and an ERA over 5.00. Wells was very good for the Orioles at Camden Yards sporting a 3.56 ERA and the O's expect him to provide some stability at the back end of their rotation. It doesn't look like any starter for the Angels has the stuff to neutralize the O's bats that are just crushing the ball right now, I like the O's to sweep the Angels to start the season.
