KC Royals +115 & KC Royals/Boston Red Sox O9.5 even
The Royals and Red Sox play the rubber game of their three game series before the All Star break, each team won their game convincingly in this series, the Royals won the opener Friday night by a score of 6-1 and the Red Sox replied yesterday with a 5-0 win. This afternoon is will be B. Singer versus B. Bello on the mound, Singer has been dominating over his last three weeks of play, in his last 4 starts, he's given up 4 ER over 24 1/3 IP. The same cannot be said for Bello as his ERA has ballooned ever since mid May, in 8 of his last 10 starts he's given up 3 ER or more and 9 of those games have gone over the total as the Red Sox have been forced to score runs to stay in those game. B. Walsh is also behind the plate calling balls and strikes and close to 60% of his games have gone over the total this season. With Singer pitching well and Bello struggling, I like the underdog Royals and over the total here.
Baltimore Orioles -1.5 +158
The Orioles look to end their 5 game losing streak this morning and avoid being swept for a second straight series when they face the Yankees. It will be C. Rodon versus D. Kremer on the mound, Rodon might be just what the Dr. ordered for the O's as he's been struggling for some time now. The Yanks have lost 5 straight Rodon starts, as he's given up 3 ER runs or more in every game and never pitching 6 full innings, the Yanks have lost 4 of those games by multiple runs. Kremer has not been at his best either of late also given up 3 ER or more in 3 of his last 4 starts, however, he did pitch versus the Yanks earlier this season and it was one of his best starts of the season as he pitched 7 innings in a 4-2 win. I like the O's to end their losing streak versus Rodon and the Yanks.
