Val's ATP Houston Open Semifinal Play

Our Etcheverry play was a no action yesterday as his opponent M. Mmoh withdrew after the 1st was played. It's unfortunate as Etcheverry was on his was to victory.  Today we go Etcheverry again in the semis.

Record 32-37 (-6.54 units)

Tomas Martin Etcheverry -140 (Risk 1.40 for 1 unit) Expected start time 2pm EST April 6th

After passing in the quarterfinals with a withdrawal from M. Mmoh, Argentine T. Etcheverry faces another American in B. Shelton in a semifinal match of the Houston Open this afternoon. Etcheverry has had a much easier go at it in Houston than Shelton, Etcheverry won his first match in straight sets and was on his way to another straight set victory before Mmoh withdrew. Shelton needed 3 sets to beat #111 ranked Z. Bergs in round 2 and had a rough game versus B. Nakashima winning 7-5 & 7-6 yesterday. Shelton is not a great clay player as can be seen by his 11-10 overall record and Etcheverry should be able to take advantage of that. I like Etcheverry to take this match as a medium size favorite, Statsational's tennis model which is available to Pro Subscribers agrees with this play as his model has an EV of 10% on Etcheverry.
