Hey everyone. I happened to join a conference tournament bracket pool with my friends at school and decided to document each of my six brackets and show my results as we move into one of the best basketball weeks of the year. I will be going to Florida on Thursday, and I will be able to watch the games from the beach! Here is my ACC Bracket:
Teams that will surprise in the tournament:
Pitt: As of now, Pitt should be in the tournament but needs to get a couple of wins to solidify a solid ranking in March. Although ending the season with two straight losses, both losses had a lot of impact on them. The first was at Notre Dame and the last home game of Mike Brey's storied career at Notre Dame. The other was at Miami, where Miami racked up the 1-seed in the conference tournament in a two-point win over Pitt. Pitt has a stellar offense, and as long as they can score, they will have no problem moving on in the ACC Tournament.
UNC: Just a few months ago, this team was the number one team in the country, but after a terrible non-conference and injuries, this team fell and had to go through the juggernaut of ACC play. Although they were a 3-seed in the ACC tournament last year, the ACC had one of its worst years in recent history then. The team is very similar to the team that made it to the National Championship last year. All college basketball fans know that a new season has begun today. What happened in the past does not matter to an extent. UNC will control their destiny; they are my dark horse to win the ACC Tournament.
