This was never really close to coming into focus, so I’m glad we were able to cash it! Our other game infuriated me, with the Pacers and Warriors, who were at one point on pace for over 280 points scored, hitting the under on a line of 247. Absolute trash. On to today!
February 9, 2024We have a smaller slate tonight after teams are making their adjustments on the remains of the trade deadline, and while it wasn’t too exciting, there could definitely be some excitement on the docket in tonight’s slate.
We’re going to focus tonight on the game between the Houston Rockets and the Toronto Raptors, who, despite their record, have vastly improved throughout the season. The Rockets are also not great, but have a much better record than the Raptors; then, why are the Raptors favored?
Well, Houston stinks on the road. They’re 5-18 with a losing margin of nearly six points per game, so while they keep it close, they absolutely cannot win games on the opposition’s court. And, to be even more negative on the side of Houston, they are even worse when it comes to ATS as the away underdog; they’re 7-12 on the season in this scenario, but they lose by an average of 8 points. We’ve got a huge chunk of wiggle room if we’re operating under this criteria.
And of course, I wouldn’t be making this pick without the Sharp App Money Handles tool guiding the way. We’ve got 40% of the bets on the home team, but 67% of all of the money on the Raptors, good for a difference of 27%. Our app supports this on the projections side as well, favoring the Raptors by a point and a half, exactly what we’re seeing on our line. Vegas has gotten it right, but the sharps are speaking what side they’re on.
Away from home, the Rockets score only 111 points per game on the road, and over their last five, the Raptors are putting up nearly 115 - and as the favorite, they score 116 points per game. As the favorite as well, the Raptors have a stellar defense, allowing only 113 points per game.
Truthfully, this game will be close the entire way through, I believe. But the home team, with a point and a half of favoritism, is the play today. You can also get the ML at -118 right now, and that would be acceptable too - but give me the points. I believe in the Craptors! PICK: Toronto Raptors -1.5
