In this column, Mitch goes through the BEST BET he's seeing in the NBA today.

In this column, I’ll go through the BEST BET I’m seeing in the league today; this can be in a spread, a moneyline, an Over/Under, or a player prop.

OVERALL RECORD: 159-108-3, +39.29u
RECAP: I’m so upset by the events that transpired yesterday. At multiple points throughout the game between the Knicks and the Celtics, we were trending at 235… and they barely were able to get above 215 total points, thanks to an absolute shellshock of a fourth quarter. Gambling is so cruel sometimes, and it’s up to people like us to fight through the hard times to get back to profit. Let’s grab it today.

February 25, 2024

We’re grabbing this play early, as we have two teams that are polar opposites facing off in what should be a pretty close battle of two teams that have had totally different stories entering tonight’s contest.

The Orlando Magic are heading to Atlanta after their huge win last night against the Pistons, in which they hit a buzzer-beater to close the door on the worst team in the league. This is a spot that I think really benefits the Magic, and that’s why we’re betting on them to take home the win today.

The Magic are the best Against the Spread team in the NBA, and they’re taking on the literal worst ATS team in the league in the Atlanta Hawks. Trae & company have been incredibly underwhelming, fumbling to a record of 24-32 on the season and firmly in last place of the Play-In in the East. The Magic, on the other hand, have cemented their place in 6th currently, and a win tonight would propel them even further towards avoiding the Play-In Tournament.

The Money Handles tool here is where we’re thriving, as y’all know that I love to hammer favorites in the morning - and this line shifted, opening as favorites for the Hawks, and shifting over to the Magic. Let’s break it down.

While we’re looking at the spread here, let’s also consider the moneyline. The Magic are favorited by -1 at most books, with the ML sitting at about -114. The Magic own only 33% of the betting handle, while dominating the money handle at 83%. That’s a difference of 50% and it’s a must-play in my opinion.

But we’re actually going to take them on the ML today, as the points can be tricky, especially if this is expected to be a close, bucket-to-bucket game like Vegas believes that it’s going to be. Orlando opened as +2.5 underdogs, but have quickly shifted into the driver’s seat in this game.

Listen, the Hawks allow over 125 points per game at home this season, and have lost 83% of games in this scenario today. That’s a recipe to dive to the other side. Up the Magic.

PICK: Orlando Magic ML
