The Reds snapped an 8 game losing streak last night when A. Abbott outpitched L. Webb in a 4-2 win. Today the Reds send their best statistical starter in N. Lodolo to the mound to face M. Black. Lodolo has been light outs on the road this season with a 0.71 ERA and almost 15 K per 9 IP in 2 starts. Black will be making only his 2nd start of the season and the 1st did not go well versus the Phillies allowing 5 ER in 4 1/3 IP. The Giants offense is lacking punch in general, and are dealing with injuries to J. Soler, & P. Bailey which waters it down even more. Lodolo will be able to dominate this lineup on the road like he has his other two opponents this season and the Reds will be able smack Black around as he isn't very good. I like the Reds on the run line and for them to score 5 runs plus making the over the play here.

Chicago Cubs/Pittsburgh Pirates U3.5 -111 1st 5 innings

The Cubs and Pirates play G2 of their series this afternoon, it will be lefty J. Steele versus the phenom that is P. Skenes on the mound. Skenes will be making his 1st MLB starts Pirates fans have been waiting for this day since they drafted him 1st overall in 2023. Skenes has a nasty fastball and combine that with his slider and he has the makings of a dominant starter for years to come. Steele is slouch either as he has a 0.96 ERA through 2 starts, he hasn't pitched much as he was on the IL for a stretch. The Pirates offense has been slumping mightily of late and I expect Skenes to have success as Cubs hitters have never seen him before, I like the under in the first 5 innings here.
