Falter has pitched relatively well this season, however, he has run into issues when pitching on the road where the Pirates have only won 2 of his 9 road starts as his ERA is elevated at 4.34. Brown for the Astros has been phenomenal of late, the Astros have won 8 of his last 9 starts and only on one occasion has he allowed more than 2 ER in those starts, with 7 of them going under the posted total. The Pirates took the opener of this series last night by a score to 5-3, I expect another low scoring game with the way Brown has been pitching with the Astros talking it by multiple runs.

The Rockies are in LA to begin a three game series with the Angels, it has been disappointing seasons for both the Rockies and Angels. The Rockies are one of the worst teams in baseball while the Angels are dealing with another injury plagued season for M. Trout and are 14 games below .500. Tonight it will be C. Quantrill on the mound versus G. Canning, the Rockies do not win often but when they do, very often it is Quantrill that is the reason. Since June 1st the Rockies have won a total of 17 games and 6 times it was Quantrill that was the starter. Canning is not pitching well for the Angels as his record sits at 3-10 with a 5.04 ERA. Success has been difficult for the Angels when Canning starts but that is normal when your opponents are hitting .269 against you and you only have 79K in 110 IP. The Rockies and Quantrill will snap their 4 game losing streak tonight versus Canning and the Angels.
