The Padres smoked the Nats 12-3 last night to win their 4th straight game and I see more of the same this afternoon when D. Cease faces P. Corbin om the mound. Corbin continues to struggle and won his first game since May 10th in his last start, however, that isn't a sign that he will turn things around going forward. He's given up 3 ER or more in 5 of his last 7 starts with the Nats losing everyone of those 5 games. Cease has been impeccable over his last 2 starts versus the Guardians and Braves pitching 12 scoreless innings, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 21! The Nats offense has been non existent in this series scoring only 3 runs in 2 games, they struggle again this afternoon and the Padres cover the runline. 

Atlanta Braves -1.5 +147 & Atlanta Braves/NY Mets U7.5 -115

A big series starts tonight between the Braves and Mets, it will be C. Sale versus L. Severino on the mound. Braves GM A. Anthopoulos has looked like a genius with the acquisition of Sale during the off season as he's reverted to his Cy Young form this season with a 13-3 record, 2.70 ERA and 140 Ks. Severino has also rebounded nicely after a couple of rough seasons with the Yanks, however, he isn't missing many bats as his strikeout rate is significantly low at 6.8 per 9 IP. He will be making his second start of the season versus the Braves, he won the first by the score of 4-3. The Braves have lost 4 straight games and are looking to keep their hold on 2nd place over the surging Mets, I believe Sale will continue his season dominance over the Mets propelling the Braves to a big victory in a low scoring game.
