Philadelphia 76ers/NY Knicks U208.5 -105

The 76ers and Knicks start their Round 1 series tonight at MSG, the 76ers needed to win their play in game to get here. Both sides are defensively sound so points could be at a premium in this series, you can tell by the posted total of 208.5 for this game. Two other factors will also play into a lower scoring game tonight, one is that the Knicks play at the league's slowest pace as J. Brunson leads the league in dribbles and secondly J. Embiid's conditioning is not where the 76ers would like it to be so paying at a slower pace seems best for the big man. Also, the Knicks have not played a game in 6 days so it may take time to get back into rhythm. For all these reasons, I like the under in this game

Arizona DBacks -1.5 +143

The DBacks and Giants play G2 of their series tonight, it will be Z. Gallen versus K. Harrison on the mound. Gallen continues to have success in 2024 like he did in 2023, he is 3-1 with a miniscule 1.64 ERA and provides the DBacks with an opportunity to win every one of his starts. Harrison hasn't been so bad for the Giants but can't seem to get over that hump of allowing less than 3 runs in a start. His ERA sits at 4.70 and that is asking a lot for a middling Giants offense to score 5-6 runs to win a game. The Giants hit their 1st HR at Oracle Park in 8 games last night, that just shows how much they struggle to score runs. I like the DBacks behind Gallen to win by multiple runs tonight.

Detroit Tigers/Minnesota Twins O7 -110

The Tigers and Twins play G2 of their series this afternoon, last night's game produced 9 runs between both sides and I expect more of the same even though this game's total is posted a 7 runs. Today's starters are R. Olson and B. Ober, both have had a really bad start and 2 quality starts where they dominated their opponents. What won't help both starters today is the fact that M. Ripperger is behind the plate calling balls and strike, Ripperger has a small strike zone which leads to plenty of scoring opportunities, he's worked 4 games behind the plate this season with all 4 going over the total averaging over 13 runs per game. With a total this low and Ripperger behind the plate I like the over in this game.
