Coach Prime has Colorado ready to begin this season, facing off against a team that was most recently in the College Football Playoff Championship in TCU. This TCU team, led by Head Coach Sonny Dykes, one of the best minds in college football. This is a system team; last season, they were one of the highest-scoring teams in the nation - and they were being led by their backup quarterback.
Many can remember that Duggan didn’t start the year - that was actually today’s starting QB for TCU, Chandler Morris. Morris has been in this system for a long time, and this offense operates well under their play-calling. He’s also shown flashes of greatness in practices this season and their defense has been demolished, after losing their top two players in tackles for loss and sacks to the Draft.
Plus, this Colorado offense is due for an upgrade after going an abysmal 1-11 last season. Led by Prime’s son Shedeur Sanders, this offense is primed to put up big numbers on offense against a depleted TCU defense. Sanders threw for nearly 4,000 yards at Jacksonville State last season, and they’ve acquired some great Kentucky talent in their backfield to help alleviate the passing game.
This game is going to be more competitive than people think, and there’s a lot of money on Colorado to cover in this game - especially with all of the hype around Sanders. Coach Deion Sanders has never really NOT lived up to the hype around his team, and I think he’s going to have them in a PRIME (get it?) position to win this game - and that means points. System team with a veteran quarterback against a hyped, fired-up team ready to prove to the nation they belong? That means points. Take the over.
