Cincinnati Reds -1.5 +142

The Reds host the Pirates for a 4 game series that includes a doubleheader tomorrow. The Reds are going to have a taxing week as they will be playing 8 games in 6 days. Tonight they send veteran M. Minor to the mound to face B. Wilson. Minor has actually pitched well as of late after being terrible for so long this season, he’s given up 5 earned runs in his last 3 starts over 17 1/3 innings with the Reds winning 2 by multiple runs. Wilson has pretty much been terrible all season outside of a couple of starts and don’t expect him to be better tonight. I like the Reds to get their busy week on the right foot win a multiple run victory.

Los Angeles Angels +106

The Angels are in Cleveland to face the Guardians tonight. It will be a matchup of two lefties when R. Detmers faces K. Pilkington, this will be a spot start for Pilkington as he’s been out of the rotation since late July. When he was in the rotation he didn’t pitch that well as his ERA was 4.69 and WHIP was 1.73. For the Angels, Detmers has pitched well this season giving the Angels an opportunity to win every time he’s on the mound. He pitched well earlier in the season versus the Guardians giving up 1 earned over 5 innings in a 4-1 victory. I like him to pitch well again tonight and the Angels to surprise the Guardians.

Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 +137

A big series, no a huge series starts tonight in Toronto between the Rays and Blue Jays. These teams will play 5 games in 4 days and are separated by only .5 a game in the Wild Card standings. The Rays have recalled C. Criswell for tonight’s’ game to face J. Berrios, to say that Berrios has underperformed to this point is an understatement. I’m sure that Jays’ management expected a better performance considering the contract they gave him. Berrios has benefited from excellent run support this season as the Jays have won 20 of his 27 starts despite his ERA of 5.23. I like the Jays to score several runs versus Criswell and the Rays pen tonight and win this game by several runs.
