The Bruins are in Minny to face the Wild this afternoon, the Bruins continue to do their thing and dominate the NHL. They’ve more or less had the Atlantic and number 1 overall seed clinched for quite some time as the number 2 team Hurricanes are 11 points behind them. The Wild have won a lot of games of late (7 of 10) but have benefitted from playing several of the weaker teams in the league. This will be a big step up in competition and with the injuries they have to key players (Kaprizov, Foligno & Duhaime) I don’t think they’re in a good position to win this game. Give me the Bruins as a road favorite.

Carolina Hurricanes -.5 -141 (Regulation)

The Canes are in Philadelphia to face the Flyers this afternoon. Both teams will be on a B2B as the Canes lost to the Maple Leafs 5-2 and the Flyers surprised the Sabres by the same score. The Flyers are projected to start F. Sandstrom and we all know what that means, a very high probability of a Flyers loss as his W/L record on the season is 1-10-1. Here is a nice stat that supports the Canes, they’re 7-2-0-1 on a B2B this season and 3-1 on a B2B off a loss, while the Flyers are 2-10 on a B2B this season and 0-4 off a win. So the signs all point to a Canes victory today.

Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 -112

The Habs continue their road trip in Florida tonight with a game versus the Lightning, after beating the Penguins for a fourth time this season earlier this week and I cannot explain how that is even possible, they had their asses handed to them 9-5 versus the Panthers Thursday night. Now they have to face the Lightning whom have started playing better winning 3 of their last 4 after having gone through a rough stretch. This line has dropped significantly due to the fact that the Lightning have confirmed B. Elliot as their starter but in all honestly the Habs are just giving up too many goals, over 4 a game during the month of March. The Lightning should take this game with ease.
