The afternoon is the rubber game between the Braves and Brewers when C. Sale and F. Peralta face off on the mound. Sale continues to make his case for the NL Cy Young and he continues to dominate this season, July has been another successful month for the Braves and Sale as they've won 3 of his 4 starts as his ERA is 2.28 and he's struck out 31 in 23 1/3 IP. The same cannot be said for the Brewers and Peralta as they've lost 3 of his 4 July starts as his ERA is at a season high of 4.43 with two of those losses coming versus the offensively challenged Marlins and Nats. The Braves added some pop to the lineup with the acquisition of J. Soler and will be a welcome addition to the starting 9. I like the Braves here with Sale on the mound.     

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 +162 & NY Yankees/Philadelphia Phillies O9.5 +102

The Phillies look to avoid being swept and snap a 3 game losing streak this afternoon when they face the Yankees. It will be a battle of lefties on the mound when N. Cortes faces C. Sanchez, wins have been hard to come by for the Yanks when Cortes has started as they've lost 8 of his last 9 starts as his ERA is ballooned at 5.15. His home performances have also helped lower that ERA as things get even dicier for him and the Yanks in his road starts where his ERA is an ugly 6.20 losing all 4 games. Sanchez is still pitching well post All Star break, however, your seeing that he hasn't been as efficient on the mound allowing more bases runners and striking out less batters. I like the Phillies on the run line and over the total as Cortes can't get the job done on the road this season.
