Val’s Big Payday Parlay January 24th 2023

Val

Another 2-1 night missing the parlay as the Stars couldn't get it done in regulation and then went on to lose in OT. If you also played these plays straight up, you made a decent profit at .87 units. Remember you call always play the parlay picks straight up and most times 2-1 will secure a profit.

Straight up Overall Record for the Big Payday Plays 507-706, -22.66 units

Detroit Red Wings -141

The Sharks are in Detroit to face the Red Wings tonight; neither team is playing particularly well at the moment both losing 7 of their last 10 games, the one solace the Wings have over the Sharks is that they have at least beat better teams in the Knights, Maple Leafs & Jets were the Sharks beat basement teams in the Coyotes, Blackhawks and somehow surprised the Stars. Even though V. Husso has regressed a little of late he's still better than J. Reimer for the Sharks and the Wings have beaten the Sharks with regularity on home ice. I will back the Wings here to get the job done.

Pittsburgh Penguins -150

The Penguins host the Panthers tonight, the Panthers will be on a B2B tonight after getting throttled by the Rangers 6-2 last night. B2B are a spot the Panthers have not done well in this season at 1-4-1, and have to travel to Pittsburgh a place they've had almost no success in the past, the Panthers are 6-20 in their last 26 meetings there. The Panthers should be welcoming back S. Knight in goal and that should their situation but the Panthers continue to struggle at 11-15-2-0 on the road while the Penguins are a solid 13-5-4-0 on home ice. For that reason I will back the Penguins at home.

Dallas Mavericks -7 -106

The Mavs host the Wizards tonight at home, and could be catching the Wizards in a vulnerable spot as they will be lacking big men. They traded R. Hachimura to the Lakers and will be missing K. Porzingis due to injury, leaving them very thin in the front court. Granted the Mavs have struggled of late losing 4 of their last 5 games, they're still one of the better teams at home winning 17 of 25 games. This will also be their last home game before heading out on the road for two games and will be looking to head out on a winning note. The Wizards are only 8-16 on the road and I cannot envision them beating Luka and the Mavs here. I will back the Mavs to cover the number.
