After taking 2 of 3 games from the Pirates over the weekend, the DBacks are in Cleveland to finish their 6 game road trip. Tonight their ace Z. Gallen faces L. Allen on the mound, 2024 has been a bit of a rocky ride for Gallen compared to 2023, however, he has been pitching much better of late on the road. His season road ERA is 4.00, however, over his last 5 road starts his ERA is 2.14 with the DBacks winning 4 of those games all by two runs or more. Allen is making his first start since July 6th as he was on the IL and he hasn’t pitched well this season with a 5.67 ERA prior to his IL stint. The DBacks offense is rolling right now having scored 4 runs or more in 8 of their last 9 games and will be able to do the same versus Allen and the Guardians. DBacks cover the run line and go over the total here.    

Cincinnati Reds -133

The Reds are in Miami to face the Marlins, N. Martinez will be making a spot start for the Reds versus R. Munoz. Martinez was removed from the Reds rotation in April after a rough start and is more suited for his current role of long relief and spot start duty as his ERA is May, June and July where all sub 3.25. He will get to face a Marlins lineup that is void of quality MLB talent. Martinez’s opponent R. Munoz had a couple of good starts to start his season but it has been all down hill since then as the Marlins have lost 8 of his 11 starts since with his elevated ERA of 5.73. I like the Reds to rough up Munoz and the Marlins and win this game.
