Big East Conference Tournament Bracket

Hey everyone. I happened to join a conference tournament bracket pool with my friends at school and decided to document each of my six brackets and show my results as we move into one of the best basketball weeks of the year. I will be going to Florida on Thursday, and I will be able to watch the games from the beach! Here is my Big East Bracket:

My winner: Providence

Providence has amazed college basketball; they always make noise in March. Their first-round matchup is against UConn, and they split their season series this season. Providence has been in contention the whole year at the top of the Big East, beating Creighton, UConn, and Marquette. Going down to the end of the season, they lost a close one at Xavier and then had a terrible loss at home against Seton Hall. I think the Friar hit their cold streak, and this 5-day break has given them time to reset and prepare for the new season in March. Providence guard, Bryce Hopkins, was one of the two unanimous first-team selections in the Big East this year, and I expect him to continue his successes in March. Although their defense is ranked 108th in the country, they have a top-20 offense. If their offense comes to play, this team will be dangerous.

Dark Horse: Villanova

The vibes I am getting from this Villanova team are similar to those of the Georgetown team that made a run in the Big East Tournament in 2021 to get an automatic bid. The only way for Villanova to get into the big dance is to at least make it to the final, but it would need a win in the championship. They first need to beat Georgetown tonight, which is more likely than not. Once they get passed Georgetown, they will have to deal with Creighton. Villanova has proved that they can beat Creighton by beating them by 12 two weeks ago. The return of Justin Moore in February has been huge for the Wildcats by giving them an added boost on the offensive end. In addition to Moore, their big in Eric Dixon has been playing huge on both the mean and defensive end, and they have been getting additional offensive support from Caleb Daniels. This team is complete, and there is something about Villanova and playing Saturday evening in MSG on the second weekend of March.

I also believe Seton Hall will upset Xavier and make some noise in the tournament.
