WNBA BETTING MODEL FOR JULY 25, 2023

Tonight's packed schedule offers a sparse array of profitable picks. Sharp bettors have already set their sights on two teams - Atlanta and Liberty - inciting significant line movements. Atlanta, initially positioned at -6, has seen sharp action, pushing the line to -7.5 at BOL, despite an opening at -5.5. Raw projections even estimate a -7 outcome. Liberty, too, has caught the eye of discerning bettors, propelling the line from the initial -14 to either -15 or -15.5 depending on the sportsbook, despite a raw projection of -13.

The match to monitor today unfolds in Dallas. While our model predicts a toss-up, the market leans towards Dallas with a -2 bias, with some bookmakers going up to -2.5. Both teams are in blistering form, recording identical 7-3 SU in their recent 10 games.

The Sun's track record boasts 16-7 ATS in their last 23 games on the road and 4-1 ATS in their preceding 5 games. The Wings impress as well with a 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Tuesday games and a 6-1 ATS in their latest 7 games. The under has been a frequent occurrence in the Sun's road games (12 of the last 17), as well as in the Wings' recent form (5 of the last 7). The Sun has a slight upper hand in the last 5 games in Dallas, with 4-1 ATS and 12-5-1 ATS in the last 18 encounters.

The Connecticut Sun have been on a roll, winning 11 out of their last 15 games and jostling for the second seed with a solid 9-3 road record. Averaging 83.9 points on 44.6 percent shooting, they've been staunch defensively, conceding only 78.4 points on 42.3 percent shooting.

On the other side, the Dallas Wings come into this game off the back of five straight wins and a 13-9 season record. They currently occupy the fourth spot in the WNBA standings, with a game advantage over the Mystics. The Wings' offensive prowess is evident in their 86 points average on 43 percent shooting, while their defense limits opponents to 82.3 points on 43.5 percent shooting.

Despite my consistent backing of the Sun, the tantalizing prospect of them as underdogs is difficult to overlook. Nevertheless, the Dallas Wings, currently one of the league's hottest teams with wins in 7 of their last 8 games, and their home advantage might tip the balance in their favor. The Sun's potential to cause an upset is undeniable, but in a near pick'em spot, I'll back the red-hot Wings at home.
