WNBA BETTING MODEL FOR AUG 24, 2023

The WNBA has been a hotbed of activity, and last night's games were no exception. The Los Angeles Sparks, bolstered by the absence of Mercury's stars Griner and Taurasi, closed the line at an impressive -11 and went on to dominate by a staggering 29 points. While the model had hinted at some value on the Mercury, the game's breakdown made it clear that supporting them would be a high-risk venture. And as it turned out, the analysis was spot on.

Tonight, the spotlight shifts to the Sun and the Sky. The Connecticut Sun, projected to receive a 3-point advantage at home, surprisingly found themselves with a 5-point buffer when the book opened. As the night wore on, BetOnline adjusted the line to +6, making it the standout value play of the day. My number to support the Sun is +7.

The New York Liberty, riding high on a wave of recent success with 8 wins in their last 9 games, are closing in on the top seed in the WNBA. The Aces' offensive juggernaut, averaging a whopping 93.7 points, is set to clash with the Sky's defense, which has been leaking over 83 points on average. However, the Sky, with their backs against the wall and fighting for a playoff spot, cannot be written off, especially when playing at home.
