The Panthers host the Sens tonight, the Panthers are the hottest team in the NHL right now having won 9 of their last 10 games. Since the start of the 2nd half of the season, the Panthers are 5-1 and have outscored their opponents 27-8. This isn’t good news for the Sens that are on a B2B and 3rd game in 4 nights and should be starting J. Korpisalo and his 3.41 GAA. This is also a matchup where the Sens have not fared well at all losing 8 of the last 10 meetings with 7 of those losses being by multiple goals. I don’t see a scenario where the Panthers don’t beat a tired Sens team by less than 2 goals.
NY Rangers -.5 +119 (regulation)
The Rangers welcome the Stars to MSG tonight, the Stars will be on a B2B after losing to the Bruins 4-3 in shootout yesterday afternoon. Not only did the Stars lose the game yesterday but they also lost a plethora of players to injury in the process. They lost defensemen J. Hakanpaa and N. Lundkvist to injury, a third defensemen M. Heiskanen is questionable for tonight for personal reasons and their leading M. Duchene may also miss the game because of a lower body injury. I don’t think even one of the better teams in the NHL can withstand that much loss in talent and be competitive in a game 24 hours later. The Stars will also be going with backup goalie S. Wedgewood in this one lowering their chances even more of winning this game. Give me the Rangers in regulation.
Minnesota Wild/Winnipeg Jets 5.5 -116
The Wild are in Winnipeg to face the Jets tonight. Both teams will be on B2B with differing results, the Wild exploded to score 10 goals on the Canucks in a 10-7 win while C. Hellebuyck wasn’t himself as he gave up 6 goals to the Flames in a 6-3 loss. Tonight we will see MA. Fleury and L. Brossoit in goal and believe both sides will continue to score goals as they have. The Wild have scored 3+ plus goals in 4 of their last 5 games while the Jets have scored 3+ in two straights games while giving up 3+ goals in 5 of their last 9 games. I like the over here.
