This Canucks start a 4 game east coast road trip that starts with a game with the Flyers, I mentioned a couple a days ago in my write that the Flyers will be one of the worst teams in the NHL this season and even though they beat the Devils in their home opener, my opinion of them still hasn’t changed. The Canucks got torched by the league’s best player in C. McDavid (hat trick) in their first game but will be relieved to play a much weaker team this afternoon. I like the Canucks to take this one by multiple goals.

Washington Capitals -1.5 -112

The Habs loss to the Red Wings last night was typical of what I feel their season will look like this year. The lost 3-0 and the score was a lot closer than perceived as the Red Wings scored 2 empty net goals, however, the Habs were outshot 40-29 and had it not been for the stellar performance of J. Allen, this game could have easily been 4-0 or 5-0. Tonight they face the Caps in Washington and are probably going to start S. Montembeault and that isn’t a good thing, last season the Habs were 8-18 when he started and his GAA was 3.77, do you know how bad you have to be as a goalie to post a GAA of 3.77 in todays’ NHL. If the Habs surrender anything close to 40 shots tonight the Caps will score 4-5 goals with no issue. Caps win big.

LA Dodgers -1.5 +148

The Dodgers are on the brink of elimination tonight in San Diego, they send T. Anderson to the mound to face J. Musgrove. Musgrove had an amazing performance in New York in G3 to eliminate the Mets; tonight he has the chance to eliminate their division rivals. Musgrove has had a great season but hasn’t been very good versus the Dodgers, in 2 starts in given up 7 ER in 12 and 1/3 innings, the Padres losing both games by multiple runs. My only concern in backing the Dodgers is that Anderson has not pitched in 13 days. However, like yesterday D. Roberts will have a quick hook and turn to D. May is need be. The Dodgers have enough playoff experience not to be rattled by being down 2-1. I like this series to head back to LA for a decisive G5.

USC Trojans +145

The #7 Trojans visit the #20 Utah Utes tonight; QB C. Williams has turned the Trojans around and has them thinking about a National Title for the first time since the days of M. Leinart & R. Bush. The Trojans are 6-0 (4-0 in conference) and beating the #20 team on the road would be another notch on their belt. Coach L. Riley has the Trojans rolling as they’re a top 25 overall offense and their defense has improved dramatically. We called the Utes lose last week with our pick of UCLA and today I like another California team to beat them.
